How to Set Up and Use Your BT Digital Voice Adapter

 

Linking the Digital Voice Adapter with Your Hub

  1. Ensure your hub is ready: Make sure your BT Hub is set up and powered on. The steady blue light indicates it's ready.
  2. Plug in the adapter: Connect your Digital Voice Adapter to a power socket near your hub.
  3. Press the WPS Button on your hub: Locate the WPS button on your hub (halfway up, on the left-hand side) and press it.
  4. Register the adapter: Within 1 minute, press and hold the WPS button on your Digital Voice Adapter for 6 seconds. The light on the Adapter will flash quickly during registration and turn solid green once complete.

 

Connecting a Home Phone

  • Plug in the telephone line cord: Insert your home phone's existing telephone line cord into the socket on the top of the Digital Voice Adapter.
  • Check for dial tone: Your phone should now have the same dial tone as when it was plugged into your old wall socket.

 

Important Safety and Care Instructions

Indoor Use Only: Use the adapter indoors in the UK.

Avoid Heat and Sunlight: Place it away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and flammable substances.

Ventilation: Keep it in a well-ventilated area and avoid blocking vents.

Child Safety: Keep the device and cables out of reach of young children.

Damp Areas: Don't place the adapter in damp areas or near water.

Damage: If the device appears damaged, stop using it immediately and contact the helpdesk.

No user serviceable parts: Don't attempt to open the device.

Body distance: Maintain a minimum distance of 20cm between the unit and your body.

Pacemaker users: If you have a pacemaker, consult a medical expert before using the adapter.

Hearing aids: Radio signals may cause interference with hearing aids.

 

Managing the Digital Voice Adapter

 

Using the Smart Hub Manager:

  • Open a web browser and type bthomehub.home/ to access Hub Manager.
  • Click on Phone on the left-hand side.
  • Scroll down to the adapter you want to deregister and click Deregister.

 

Emergency Calls

Power cut and broadband Issues:

You cannot make emergency calls (999 or other numbers) from phones connected to your hub or Digital Voice Adapter during a power cut or broadband issue.

Ensure you have an alternative way to call for help in emergencies.

 

Disposal and Recycling

Responsible Disposal: Dispose of your old equipment responsibly. You can send it back to BT for recycling or use local recycling centers and retailer take-back schemes.

  • BT will repair or replace the product if it's not working properly.
